Cliff Dwellings are fully equipped condominiums on Grand Lake that are available for short term or weekend rental. They are located on Monkey Island in a gated community known as Port Duncan Resort. There is easy access to shopping, entertainment and other recreational activities in the area. A few minutes drive, south on # 125 (turn left when leaving Port Duncan) will take you to the Shangri-La Recreation Center for a variety of indoor/outdoor activities for a small fee. A few minutes drive north (turn right when leaving Port Duncan) on # 125 to # 85A west to Bernice will take you to the Bernice State Park for great access to the lake where you can fish, swim, launch you boat, picnic, hike the nature trail or just enjoy the water. Rest rooms with hot water for showers are readily availed and it’s all free! Stop at Littlefield’s Convenience Store (Phillip 66 station) for groceries, snacks and/or a great selection of meats for grilling from the butcher shop. Grove with its convenient shopping and an abundance of opportunities for antiquing, exploring the talents of local artists and enjoying the native cuisine is a mere 15 minutes to the east by car or boat. Vinita and Miami are both within 25 minutes from Cliff Dwellings. Joplin, MO is 50 minutes to the northeast on Interstate 44 and Tulsa, OK is 90 minutes to the west on Interstate 44.

Each condo provides guests with a beautiful panoramic 180 degree view of the lake facing east from a vantage point of 100 feet directly above the water. Cliff Dwellings has trees on all sides with the exception of the lake viewing area. The warmth of the sun in the morning followed by a shaded lake viewing area in the late afternoon are all part of the Cliff Dwelling experience. The parking area is an easy walk to the front door of each unit. All units have a monitored alarm system for your security.

While we welcome families, there is a concern with having small children at Cliff Dwellings. This concern is the danger of falling off the cliff. The only thing separating a person from the edge of the cliff is a decorative wrought iron fence. The natural curiosity of children sometimes leads them to explore in areas that could dangerous to their well being therefore it is most essential children be under adult supervision at all times.
